This is a Italian Model 1935 tankers helmet from World War II (1939-1945). The helmet features a leather shell with a thick pad attached around the middle. On the front is the death head skull insignia of the Moschettieri del Duce, the bodyguards of Mussolini.¹ There are also two grated vent holes on either side of the helmet. On the inside is a leather liner. A leather neck flap is attached to the liner. There is also two leather ear flaps that act as the chinstrap for the helmet. A manufacturer's stamp on the inside dates the helmet to 1943.
