German Heer Artillery Officer's Garrison Cap, 1938 Model
This is a garrison cap representing the Model 1938 type worn by artillery officers of the German Heer (Army) in World War II (1939-1945). It is made from field gray-green wool with silver piping running along the crown and front scallop. Featured on the front are three distinguishing insignia: a silver wire embroidered Heer service eagle, wire embroidered national tricolor cockade, and bright red soutache designating the artillery branch of service.
