This is a French Type 202 Parachutist training helmet dating to just after World War II (1939-1945). It has a padded shell covered with olive green cloth. Ear flaps extend down from the shell and contain three ventilation grommets. The Type 202 is still used by some countries,1 but most have been replaced by the Model F-1 which first was issued in 1984.
