Deutsche Reichsbahn Ferry Boat Captain's Visor
A part of the German Railway Service (Deutsche Reichsbahn, DRB), this visor hat was worn by ferry boat captains of the Third Reich (1933-1945). It resembles the Kriegsmarine (Navy) style white top visor with a black hatband and features a gold Nazi Party style eagle. Below the eagle is a wire embroidered ferry boat wreath/cockade combination insignia. The wreath extends up toward a DRB winged wheel and surrounds the anchor that rests just below.2 A red/white/black national tricolor cockade is superimposed over the anchor. Cap cords are attached above the visor by way of gold anchor embossed side buttons. The interior contains a white cloth lining with a brown oilcloth sweatband. A celluloid sweat diamond is stitched to the lining and has illegible lettering, which likely verified the hat's manufacturer.
