French Colonial Troops U.S. M-1 Liner, WWII
This is an American M-1 helmet liner manufactured by the Westinghouse Company during the early to middle half of World War II (1939-1945). It has a standard issue makeup with its olive drab exterior and cotton twill suspension. The interior sweatband is missing. Featured on the front is a hand painted Cross of Lorraine with anchor insignia. The two insignia tie together the Free French forces and Colonial Army that fought in Africa, Italy, and later France during the liberation.
